Quarterly audits are a calibration layer, not a replacement for source-backed rule verification. When an audit closes, this page will show the sample size, error rate, and date.
How a guide becomes publishable
Define the route
Origin stays country-level for now, while destinations stay jurisdiction-level where rules differ by state, province, territory, or region.
Collect the seven rule types
Each complete route has 7 rule facts: visitor driving, IDP, translation, resident deadline, exchange, testing, and documents.
Attach sources before writing the answer
Rules point to official agencies, government service pages, laws, or other primary sources. The release candidate currently tracks 207 active source records.
Human review gates the page
A guide is treated as reviewed only after every rule is verified, the route has a review date, and at least one active official source is connected.
Indexing is a separate approval
A reviewed guide can still stay out of search results. Indexing is intentionally separate from research completion so release decisions remain explicit.
What happens when facts are missing
Missing or unreviewed facts render as a verification-pending state. Those pages stay out of search results until their review is complete.
How facts stay fresh
90-day source freshness
Linked sources must be active and recently checked before a route can pass the publish gate.
Review dates stay visible
Reviewed pages show when the route was checked, and rule records keep their own verification dates.
Unclear answers are withheld
If official sources conflict or a rule is unclear, the guide stays in review instead of guessing.
Coverage boundaries
Driving Atlas currently focuses on passenger-car foreign license questions for 22 origin-license countries. It is general information, not legal advice, and it does not replace the licensing authority, consulate, insurer, rental company, or court that may apply to a specific situation.
